Lodge Discoverers 1494 SC

Discoverers Lodge Fund Raising by means of Wine Sales.

The wine on offer will be selected red and white wines labelled with our own label, as well as other labels, as offered to us by wineries and institutions.

This effort will be run in conjunction with other and existing fund raising efforts and we will gladly take orders, for any label, apart from our own label.

A web site will be created to advertise the wines on offer and it will include an order form.

Sales Promotion.

A pamphlet will be printed to promote sales, it will include an order form.

E-mail addresses and cellphone numbers will be collated from these forms, for later and ongoing promotions.

A roll-up stand poster kit will be made to be erected at festive boards and other functions, to promote the sale wines.

Wine tasting events will be held to promote the wines.

Members from other Lodges and Centres will be approached to promote sales in their respective areas.

We anticipate country-wide representation.

To make sales simpler and to avoid handling cash, we will get a phone-in credit card setup from the bank.

Orders.

Orders will be taken at visits to other Lodges and Masonic Centres and as the effort gains momentum, orders will be placed directly on the web site.

Inducement.

When a single order for 10 cases of ‘ Discoverers Inner Guard's Secret ' is placed, a complimentary set of Wine Tasting glasses will be given with delivery of the order.

Competition

We would like to run a competition, in conjunction with the orders, which offers good quality prizes.

The draw for prizes will depend on the number of sales and as the effort gains momentum the value of the prizes and the frequency of the draw will increase.

‘ THE INNER GUARD'S SECRET '

In 1954 a band of Brethren set out to discover the lost secrets and called themselves … Discoverers. They studied all the history of King Solomon and the legends of Queen Sheba … they travelled North, South, East and West in search of the lost secrets.

They journeyed into the allegories, past the Pillars at the entrance to King Solomon's Temple and arrived at the Middle Chamber, where without scruple or diffidence, they sought their just rewards. Alas, in the Middle Chamber they were unable to decode the lost secrets and from thence forth have laboured to decipher the Inner Guard's Secret code.

Having toiled and studied, they have retired to quiet contemplation of their progress through the Arts and Sciences and having gone from labour to refreshment, have called the elixir of their reflection

‘ THE INNER GUARD'S SECRET '.

This elixir is a product of the South African Cape vines' finest grape; pressed, matured and blended in the best traditions, presented with deference to worthy brethren for their indulgence during rest and refreshment.

You can't crack the code, so rather join in cracking a bottle of

‘ The Inner Guard's Secret '.

This bottle of fine wine is brought to you by the Brethren of Discoverers Lodge No. 1494 on the Roll of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. By joining us, the proceeds of this wine will be used towards alleviating the plight of “Old Folk”, who through no fault of their own have fallen on hard times.
